explanation of perseverance is; continued effort to do or achieve something
despite difficulties, failure or opposition; commitment, hard work patience and
endurance. How proud can a mother be? This week both my older kids showed me this.
My son showed me in school when his teacher got switched right at the end of the year. He continued to work hard putting his best effort forward despite having
such a drastic change at the end of the school year; and let’s face it at that age it’s pretty drastic to have your teacher changed. His report card shined and he was proud of his own efforts, which is what mattered the most.
My daughter showed her perseverance when she auditioned to be in a competitive dance company despite having a broken metatarsal (that’s the bone at the side of your foot, in case you’re wondering). Did she get a spot on that
dance team? Nope but after drying her tears she said that she would like to try out in another dance company. This company suited her needs more and is better suited for her. So through her perseverance, she ended up in a better place.
Through their perseverance, these kids gave me a wake up call that there will always be obstacles in the way. Of course I know this but to see it through their eyes is somehow different. Persistence and perseverance is what makes us excellent and achieve greatness. This attitude is what will help me get to my end goal, my greatness.
